The Richmond Centre for Disability (RCD) is hosting an On-Line Auction, where every item starts at Opening Bid of $1. All the proceeds of this fundraising auction is going to the RCD and supporting our services for people with disabilities.
1. Simple Bidding Process:
10 items will be put on auction every auction cycle (one cycle is about 15-16 days)
Browse the list and select your items
To bid on an item, click on the bidding sheet – you must enter your name, phone number and email address, as well as the amount you bid
You can bid any amount, from $1 upwards – increment of less than $1 is not valid
There is no cap for the bidding, that means you can bid any amount you want as long as it is $1 or over
Upon successful bidding, an email will be sent to you to confirm your bidding amount
Your bidding amount will appear on the website (but not your name or contact information); further bidding will proceed
Revisit the On-Line Auction site frequently to ensure you still have the highest bid
Bidding will close at the end of the auction cycle
2. Winning a Bid:
At the end of the auction cycle, an email will be sent to the winner of each auctioned item
3. Collection of & Payment for Items:
RCD is not responsible for shipping; item has to be picked up from the RCD Office
The amount you bid is the amount you pay
You pay when you pick up the item, by cash, cheque, or debit; credit card (Visa or Mastercard) is applicable for payment over $10 only
Rules of RCD $1 On-Line Auction:
All auctions are conducted in Canadian funds
Each auction cycle is 15 or 16 days, closing at 15th and end of each month
Different items are up for auction every cycle; items with no bidder may or may not reappear for future auction
There is no cancellation of your bid once entered; ensure you want to bid and are prepared to pay for the bidding amount before you make your move
Disclaimers:
RCD reserves the right to cancel the auction at any time
All items are donated to the RCD – we do our best to provide accurate information of each auctioned item but this may not be possible in every case; the RCD will not be held responsible for incorrect information
Auctioned items are received as is; there is no further price negotiation
Once item has been claimed, there is no refund of money
Important Notes:
The RCD is a not-for-profit organization providing direct services for people with disabilities. We do not have a fundraising unit, and indeed working with very scarce resources and limited manpower. We appreciate that all winners of auctioned items will pick up and pay within a reasonable time frame; we are unable to follow up indefinitely. Moreover we thank you in advance that all winners will honour their bids; this fundraising initiative is made possible by our hardworking staff and volunteers, as well as generous prize donors. Thank you for your support!
