Thank you to all who came on Saturday, September 12 to the Richmond Oval Plaza to participate, volunteer and enjoy the entertainments at the Inaugural Richmond Rotary Roll and Stroll event. Rotary Roll & Stroll

In a time of increasing economic strain, skyrocketing demands in social services and growing concerns for the well being of persons with disabilities, Rotary Club of Richmond has initiated a movement to heighten awareness to maintain adequate services and resources, and to steer growth in a more positive direction for people with disabilities in our communities.

Rotary Roll & StrollOver 150 participants including runners, rollers and strollers, with exhibitors, performers and volunteers attended the 2009 Richmond Rotary Roll & Stroll. The event was initiated by the Mayor of the City of Richmond, Mayor Malcolm Brodie and Richmond Rotary Club President Mr. Chris Browne. Before the entertainments started in the afternoon, Mrs. Alice Wong, MP Richmond, addressed the crowd and presented awards to the 3 winners in the category of 2KM, 4KM and 8KM respectively.

Saturday’s event marked the first annual effort hosted in collaboration by the Richmond Rotary Club and the Richmond Centre for Disability. All the funds raised at this fun family event will be used to equipment, services and activities to assist those with disabilities to participate in sports, recreation, community and educational activities.
